What to Expect

             As styles and tastes change throughout the years, so has The Strawberry Tree.  Begun as a Christmas shop in 1982, the store was solely stocked with locally handmade crafts. 

            Today there is a new location, a Tea Room and two floors of gifts that attract guests from a 75-mile radius.  The store is now located in the home of Abram Gates, a 19th Century hardware entrepreneur.  This 1890s Italianate Victorian home with its deep, inviting porch welcomes you into a house rich in original details such as ornate fireplaces and parquet floors.  The house maintains much of its Victorian charm.  Visitors often remark, “They don’t build them like this any more.”
