As styles and tastes change throughout the years, so has The Strawberry Tree.  Begun as a Christmas shop in 1982, the store was solely stocked with locally handmade crafts.            
Today our store is located in the home of Abram Gates, a 19th Century hardware entrepreneur.  This 1890s Italianate Victorian home with its deep, inviting porch welcomes you into a house rich in original details such as ornate fireplaces and parquet floors.  The house maintains much of its Victorian charm.  Visitors often remark, “They don’t build them like this any more.”
